Managing Partner

Hector Guerra is the managing partner of the firm and practices mainly in commercial and corporate law, conveyancing, and civil and public law litigation before the Supreme Court of Belize.

He successfully represented the Registrar of the International Merchant Marine Registry of Belize in a high profile, multi-jurisdictional dispute involving the foreign owners of a vessel registered in Belize and was recently engaged by foreign clients in Dubai in a major trademark dispute in Belize.

Hector has a passion for sports law and has successfully appeared for clients before the Anti Doping Tribunal of the Regional Anti-doping Organisation of Central America, where his representation was described as “outstanding”. He has received training from World Anti Doping Agency in Results Management Training and Accreditation.

His transactional practice has focused on all aspects land law, including land transfers, mortgages and leases as well as advising on labour and contract law matters. He has advised extensively on company law matters and has worked on a number of company restructurings, advised on joint ventures and closed multi-million dollar land transactions.

He regularly advises Galen University. Clients have commented on his quick turn around time, attention to detail and user-friendly manner.

His public-spirited nature manifests itself in the number of pro bono criminal cases in which he has appeared defending the indigent and his participation in Bar Association-sponsored legal aid clinics.

Hector is a member of the Bar Association of Belize and a member of the Board of Governors of the St. Ignatius High School in Santa Elena. He has received certification in Arbitration Principles and Process and Arbitration Award writing.
